From the very first time I left the UK aged 9, on a family holiday to my Grandparents villa in Spain –  I was hooked on travel.  The colours, the people, the wildlife, the smells were to set me on a journey to set foot in every land.

Over the years I have been lucky to travel to over 100 countries across 4 continents and have not been disappointed.  I have boated, canoed, trekked, been driven in Overland vehicles and prepared my own Landrover.  I’ve been in jungles, forests and desert:

This has done nothing to curb my enthusiasm.

The only thing that is different is that I’m getting older and time is getting short !.

Next month sees me quitting my job to fulfil my dream and will start on a journey around my near neighbours of France, Germany,  Switzerland but mostly Italy, a country I do not know very well.  After this, those far flung countries that have eluded me to date will be in my sights.

People ask me why ?………..

………………simply because I promised myself I would do it  !
